I love these facts!! I think King Bob-omb just stole Bowser's cool decorative spheres to turn into classy gloves during a state visit and Bowser just lets him do that because he's not going to go to war with another kingdom over the damn decor when he's so busy kidnapping Peach and fighting Mario.

Your math makes total sense for the game world! In real life, air resistance is huge at speeds like these, so the engine would have to be MUCH bigger. But racing games don't include air resistance because there's no point & it's easier to just base everything on speed rather than raw engine power.
