The National Science Foundation lost 12% of its workforce today, fired at 10:00 AM and told to be out of the building by 1:00. I was on that list of 168 employees. This is happening across federal agencies. Sure sounds like a coup.

Academic friends: many of you have worked on NSF ADVANCE. I’ve been involved since 2008. If you Google ADVANCE, you get this. This program has given millions of dollars, mostly to universities, to promote equity for STEM faculty. The message on that page is eerily appropriate.
