For those who would like to have their Friday evening dose of shock, here's the Menendez indictment in full. Includes frequent references to Menendez meeting with members of Egyptian intelligence, subverting the democratic process through corruption and a corrupt halal meat certification company:

What message will it send recipients of US aid if this brazen illegal effort to corrupt aid decisions is not responded to firmly?

It’s inconceivable to not place a hold on 100% of Egypt’s conditioned military aid and show the consequences for such an assault on our democratic institutions.

These are US politicians & decision/policy makers walking all over the suffering of Egyptians without batting an eyelash.

Between confirmed coverage that Senator Menendez took bribes to advance Egyptian govt interests and that Egyptian authorities injected spyware on a leading presidential candidate's phone, the weekend probably feels really really far.

BREAKING: new investigation by ⁦‪@citizenlab‬⁩ reveals that Egyptian presidential candidate Ahmed Eltantawy was hacked with Predator spyware between May and September 2023, after he publicly announced he’s running for the 2024 elections.
