Rave is the greatest type of EDM by a mile. Dave Grohl described the early 1990s as an 'emotional awakening', and the music of the era encapsulated this. There are many rave anthems to choose from but I like Set You Free by N-Trance the most then The Key, The Secret by Urban Cookie Collective.

But it was still nice to see him get married to his partner Cynthia live on stage.

Alexander O'Neal is a soul legend acclaimed for the beautiful album Hearsay and songs like Criticise, Never Knew Love Like This, If You Were Here Tonight and Saturday Love. Viewing his farewell concert at the Royal Albert Hall from last year it's clear that he is long past his 1980s prime.

Rabbits and guinea pigs are underappreciated.

I would like to add that Tim Wheeler is the type of man I would want my sister to go out with. If I had one, lol.

I was listening to Sounds Of The 90s on Radio 2 earlier tonight with Tim Wheeler as guest, promoting Ash's latest album and reminiscing about the 1990s. I have long been a fan of Ash, 1977 and Girl From Mars, which was released 30 years ago and inspired me a lot as a teenager.

I liked The Rock Show on Radio 2 yesterday (11pm Friday) with the guest being Robert Plant. Host Shaun Keaveny plays a lot of new singles but also some deep cuts, alternate versions and live tracks, which are important staples of any specialty radio show.

I revisited The Last Supper (1995) earlier this week. A black comedy that exaggerated the intolerance of different opinions on the political spectrum in 1990s America. But viewed today it is a really prescient film that has aged well -- it's 30 years ahead of its time.

I liked Sounds Of The 80s on Radio 2 earlier tonight.

People often compliment me about my clothes and enquire about where I got them. The answer is that I simply buy a lot of my apparel from ebay. I search for items I need, list them from low to high in price and then scroll down until I find something I like for under £20.

It's wonderful to see that all Britpop royalty have still got it in 2025. Oasis, Blur, Pulp and Suede all sound as effervescent as they did in their 1990s heyday.

Pulp (More) and Wolf Alice (The Clearing) have been nominated for the Mercury Prize on the 16th of October 2025. It's Pulp's first new album since We Love Life in 2001, which contained the superb The Night That Minnie Timperley Died. More proves that Pulp have retained this form after 24 years.
