Like its forerunner insults, "political correctness" and virtue signalling" - it basically means being a decent person. You know: calling people by the names they want to be called by, giving hungry kids a feed, caring for the destitute and the ill, letting those with talent from all parts of the country rise into jobs they are skilled at. It's disturbing that they're escalating their vice signalling right now - when the United States is using the same rage to dismantle their economy, their alliances, and their social contract with each other. The thing about being a decent person is: it's quiet. It takes self-control to not make cheap insults about someone who disagrees with you. It takes thinking ahead, and humility, and paying attention to your instincts vs your intellect. It takes - sometimes - helping out someone who's making choices you disagree with. And it also pays off ten-fold in better relationships with people, with thriving families, with strong communities - and strong economies. Inconsistent rules make life very confusing if you are autistic. I'd see other people in my family get a drink and not ask if I wanted one also.

Then get reprimanded for not asking if anyone wanted a drink when I got one.

Rules should be consistent, if they aren't, it's not a rule, it's a guide.
