A lot of times people put me on lists of "actually good male role models" which always makes me a little uncomfortable because very little of what I do speaks to the insecurity and fear young men have and sometimes I feel pretty guilty about that.

I felt like this movie portrayed regular people in a way that was so bad it probably further entrenched their beliefs rather than persuaded them, and further turned people off the institution of science because it was so out of touch with regular people. Although I completely agree with this point

I think when we’re talking about role models we’re talking boys finding them more than men, and children naturally gravitate toward people that look like them (eg why representation is important) - for that reason I’d say there’s a legit onus on men to step up. Be better examples
