More than three years of storytelling at communities up and down the Grand River produced a wealth of art forms – music, song, dance, visual, parades, and of course, theatrical. VOICE OF THE RIVER: The Exhibit has paintings by Larry Devine and Pat Flood, information on the Grand River Quilt Project, photography by Jeff Leader, a water-based zine by Ellie Anglin, and whimsical, explorative drawings by yours truly. The exhibit itself is a great big invitation for all to partake in the 310-km Grand River Community Play. Ten communities in all, the play begins in Caledonia on July 21 and ends on August 23 in a FULL DAY celebration at Chiefswood Park, Ohsweken, on Six Nations of the Grand River. https://www.ruralcreativity.org/projects/grand-river-community-play-project-2/

I admire this man’s art & graphic work so much (especially his ink drawings, which are not seen here). His play is pretty fun too.

Why swearing is a sign of intelligence, helps manage pain and more | CNN Oh the profanity! Swearing is a social no-no, but studies have shown that cursing can serve a useful place in our lives, especially when it comes to mind over matter.

Prototaxites – giant fungi – were scattered across the landscape in the Devonian time period – 400 million years ago. Plants existed during that time, but none were taller than 1 m. Prototaxites grew to 1 m in diameter and 8 m high and they continued to tower over the land for about 40 million years.

This day in 1970 The Band was on the cover of Time Magazine. They had Music from Big Pink and The Band (The Brown Album) under their belts and Stage Fright would be released later that year.
Richard Manuel was from my home town – Stratford. Anthem for our time – The Weight (on Big Pink).
