Paper out today in PLoS Medicine by many of us who would like to see publication bias reduced or eliminated.

Especially happy that Registered Reports got shout-outs.

Launched in 2023, Imaging Neuroscience is now firmly established, with full indexing (PubMed, etc.) and 700 papers to date.

We're very happy to announce that we are able to reduce the APC to $1400.

Statement of commitment: Games: Research and Practice will automatically offer Stage 1 in-principle acceptance (IPA) to any Stage 1 RR within the journal’s disciplinary scope that receives IPA at PCI RR, and will accept without further peer review any Stage 2 RR that has been recommended by PCI RR, subject to the authors paying any applicable article processing charge. Disciplinary scope: Empirical research on games and playable media spanning academic research and industry practice, including game and playful design (mechanics, narrative, aesthetics); development (programming, production); evaluation (playtesting, analytics); player experience and psychology; applied games and gamification; education; graphics, virtual/augmented reality and AI for games; esports and community; and cultural, social, and ethical issues.

In 2024, Infant and Child Development (ICD) withdrew as a PCI RR-friendly journal and reneged on three Stage 1 recommendations issued by PCI RR. In addition, Wiley – the publisher of ICD – notified PCI RR and the PCI core team of its decision to withdraw all Wiley journals from PCI and PCI RR, including an additional 9 PCI-friendly journals. Finally, Wiley appears to have banned all of its ~1600 journals from considering submissions that have been previously reviewed by PCI or PCI RR. This statement explains the history of ICD joining PCI RR and developments that led to the current outcome. The PCI RR Managing Board believes that this shift in policy to become “PCI-hostile” renders Wiley journals incompatible not only with community-based preprint review but with preprint archiving in general.

Super excited that the first article from my PhD research has now been reviewed and recommended by @pci-regreports.bsky.social and is available to read at osf.io/preprints/os...!

The one exception to this rule is that authors using the scheduled track who submit their initial Stage 1 snapshot *prior* to 1st Jul CAN choose a date within the shutdown period to submit their full Stage 1 manuscript.

📣 NEW: To accommodate reviewer & recommender holiday schedules, @pci-regreports.bsky.social will be closed to ALL submissions from 1st Jul - 1st Sep. During this time, reviewers can submit reviews & recommenders can issue decisions, but no new or revised submissions can be made by authors.
