The proposed amendments to the Northwest Forest Plan don't adequately address the unique forests of the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion, which have some of the most diverse temperate conifer forests in the world, with an incredible 35 species!

Environmental organizations and residents throughout the Northwest and the entire country, are calling on the Forest Service to strengthen protections for mature and old-growth forests for the benefit of wildlife habitat, rare species, wildfire resiliency and climate protection.

While there are some beneficial changes proposed for the Northwest Forest Plan, some proposed amendments could weaken the policies and guidelines governing land use on federal lands in the Pacific Northwest, including amendments that could make it easier to log mature and old-growth forests.
