Frankly TCM 2022 IS BETTER than TCM4 and Texas Chainsaw 3d. Like if you can step back and look at what's executed on the screen idk how you could come to a different conclusion.

The Halloween series and response to the new trilogy, and TCM 2022 are good examples of this, where the "that made no sense" accusation of plot points is so harsh on recent films, but the older ones with those same problems, often moreso, get passes. H20 IS worse than 2018.

of most genre classics from their release window. I think that makes it hard to be objective sometimes with film criticism because a lot of the classics have many same flaws modern movies do but they often get a pass due to seniority.

I wonder how much our personal experiences bias our opinions as horror fans sometimes, especially with a nostalgia factor of when/where you first saw something. I didn't get to fully enter the horror world till 2012 when I was 23 with my 1st apt, so I don't have deep memories
