I am priveldged in that I enjoyed laughing at myself and dancing early on. The emotional intelligence stuff took some lumps and bruises to learn. Still learning.
But essentially, be humble,sincere and try being competent at something you enjoy. And able to share.

I share the curse that I find learning new things to a "beginners/marginally competent" level rather easy. But maintaining focus beyond superfical knowledge is virtually impossible. Is that all ADHD? or some mechanism to deal with survival/scarcity...also :-) how much are those the same thing?

I've found the most important thing about self teaching (and most learning really) is understanding how vital mistakes and failure are the process. Irreplaceable really. Nothing teaches like a well made mistake and an awareness of how to do it better after.

I grew up telling myself I wasnt "mechanically inclined" because I wasnt interested in car culture like some around me. But adult neccessity included learning to fix cheap cars. And though I wont ever enjoy working on cars, I enjoy being able to do just a bit of it myself.
