I was sleepy, but not too sleepy to fall for a very nice rainbow red herring. ( Honestly, I hadn't noticed the green herring yet when I decided that the blue line was a better use of the great blue herring.)

I got a plummeting Sensation that I interpret as, "I should have gone to bed." Could have been a six, but I only thought of one of the two words Wordlebot later said I'd had left.... and it was the right one

There have been several connection games with similar clues related to modern franchises in sports I've never been interested in. But I *was* a baseball fan in grammar school and enjoyed movies and books about the history of game. One of those teams was founded in the 19th century!

Congratulations on that early purple line! I never saw it coming. (Too few frozen desserts, maybe?)
And I always miss clues with the connection that blue used today, a topic I lost interest in as I got older. But today the 4 references existed before 1977.

After a disappointing wordle, I redeemed myself with Connections during breakfast, dodging a supermarket aisle full of red herrings, and solving the blue clues in a category that is usually one of my worst.
