Security check went the smoothest ever. You don't need to take out your electronic devices out of your bags anymore. The last time I took the plane, it took forever to pull out my devices, the kids' and then putting them back in. People behind were not happy. Security people not so much either [β¦]

Note that Americans do not all look the same, but they're so loud (you don't miss it bit of their conversations) and so fat (even the nob-fat ones are fat... What happened there? People weren't all so big when I lived there.

Kansai Airport is such a strange place after months, sometimes years in my corner of the world. So many different kinds of people mixed up. And the rumors are true, if you stay away from them long enough, all Westerners look alike (well, all Anglos look the same, all French look the same, all [β¦]

I'm not even on the plane yet, I'm already tired. (Probably because I didn't take my daily afternoon nap)
Well, hopefully, for once, maybe I'll manage to sleep on the plane. Hopefully.

@jannem I never run out of things to do anywhere I am. π
But the complete chaos really gets me. At least in Europe (and even in North America) there is some sort of logic in the ways cities are organized.

Wow, this is probably the longest tunnel I've been through (Big traffic jams in Kobe - are there ever no traffic jams in Kobe?) so we took a detour by the north of the city and then joined back the main road to Osaka through that tunnel that went on forever. Of course, we're now stuck at the [β¦]

I'm not gonna live-post my trip (or will I?) but we're on the bus to Osaka, an hour from home, when my son realizes he forgot his stuffed penguin. It's the only toy he wanted to bring (beside his Switch) but more than a toy, I think it was going to be his "mom surrogate" or something like that [β¦]

The good news: my back hurts less today.
The bad news: my leg hurts more. My sciatica has chosen the worst possible time to return.
Hopefully, the pain will remain manageable until I can see the physical therapist again (basically when I return home)

Al Overview
GDAL includes Python utility scripts, including gdal_pca.py , which may be included in the GDAL distribution.
What is gdal_pca.py?
While the core GDAL library focuses on raster and vector data format translation, it also offers a collection of Python-based utilities for various processing tasks. gdal_pca.py is one such utility, likely designed to perform Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on raster datasets, a technique commonly used in remote sensing and image processing.
How to use gdal_pca.py
- Command Line Interface: Similar to other GDAL utilities like gdal_calc or gdal_translate, gdal_pca.py would likely be used from the command line, providing input raster files and specifying output options.
- Python Bindings: You could also integrate the functionality of gdal_pca.py within your own Python scripts by importing and calling the relevant functions, leveraging GDAL's Python bindings.
Note: Specific usage details and command-line options for gdal_pca.py would be available in the official GDAL documentation or by running gdal_pca.py --help on your command line.
Nice GDAL utility you found, Google! Too bad you just made it up and it doesn't exist.

With temperatures being insane here (38 later today) I was wondering what the situation was like in Hong Kong (I have a short layover there tomorrow night)...
Well, it's cooler in HK than it is in Japan (29-30). However, it's raining a lot. Is rainy season now?
