After research, this gig seems to be in 1981.

I know it’s a bit easier to paint/draw than a Wales flag… that dragon is difficult! Anyway, walking all over England, eh? πŸ˜‰

PS. At one gig, I was ordered by security to take my shoes off. I had genuinely damaged my right foot at the time, so had steelies for protection. Found myself in an 1980s mosh-pit situation, shoeless. I managed to avoid further damage, but pain endured. My footwear was returned to me at the end.

2/2 He died on the day of the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, of Motor Neurone Disease. One of those very few 'long-life' friends we (hopefully) all have. So good that he's got mentioned. Andy Shingler. (Some great stories re last train catching, last night!)

1/2 @gidcoe.bsky.social @marcrileydj.bsky.social Thanks for reading my email out last night re last train after gig. My friend Andy worked at Euston in the 1980s; we are going to gigs in London at least once weekly then. Andy, a friend from 1969 - lived in the next street. ...

It seems Sultana announced it without consulting Corbyn first. And he’s not pleased. Not good.

Don’t worry, I’ll always be even older (by 26 years) as long as I’m here!

About the only thing that appears to have stayed the same at this festival. Maybe it’s time it changed, in light of the now mass corporationism, commercialism and media saturation.

Thanks Roger. With hindsight, things would have been alright. But I thought at one stage, it was very serious. (Still wish I’d been there). x

I was bloody ill (hospital A & E job- chest pains). Of all days. Ticket brought, trains sorted, accommodation booked. I was so disappointed. Still on the bright side - I feel fine now.

2/2 the actual leisure pool itself, the bowls green, the cafe/bar, seeing gigs in the Compass Club, and one night, er, β€˜conversing’ with a police officer whilst driving a car out of the car park. All good memories. Tragic that this leisure centre got demolished.

@osaumarezsmith.bsky.social 1/2. Been reading β€˜100 20th-Century Sports and Leisure Buildings’ today. Re your piece on β€˜The Leisure Centre Boom’ - me and my family often visited Bletchley Leisure Centre, from our nearby home town of Leighton Buzzard. Good memories of it, including…
