I mean, we really should only focus on health related issues that can’t be passed from person to person. That truly fits with America’s privileged individuals-first value base. It’s like the government telling us “if you’re dumb enough to catch an infectious illness, you’re not worth treating”.

More scientists need to understand the importance of science policy and how what we do fits within the larger context.
