I do my daily Duolingo lesson too, but in German. Little by little I learn a little 😄

It was awesome. We walked ~16km in the HEAT but that just made it all the more unique a day in our lives. Not one I'll be forgetting anytime soon.

And one of the finest meals I've eaten, to boot. Once our friends told us it was a traditional meal from where they are from (~2hrs away) and they have it all the time, I had to try it. Unbelievably good.

5yrs ago da missus setup an online video chat language exchange with a woman from France. She helped our kids learn French, while wife helped her kid learn English. We met that family today & turns out they are just wonderful people. The city was beautiful, but spending the day with them made it.

Incredible day. Like, one of the absolute best of life behind only some very key life events. Definitely melted, but worth it.

Took a trip up to Giverny in Normandy today, otherwise we are based in Paris, in Le Marais dans le 3ieme arrondissement, minus a few other day trips to come.

We stayed at the Marco Polo campground. Plenty of fun stuff for kids there.

Usually we do Shediac with the wife's extended family over the long weekend, but this year we all shifted to Cavendish. Sounds like the plan is to do it again next year.

We did 3 nights. Also discovered to avoid the craziness at the Cavendish Tim's and take the 10min drive out to North Rustico & hit up the quiet Robin's. Nice grocery store next door too.

I really thought there was no chance of finding it. But it was right there at the front desk. Made the extra driving worth it, otherwise woulda been a real bummer.

And yeah had to pay the toll twice...still came out ahead of a week ago though 🤷‍♂️

We left PEI yesterday, and wife realized at the Aulac Big Stop that her wallet was missing. Only place she took it out was Green Gables, so back we drove and there it was, with everything still in it. Pheeeeeew.

Yuck. Da missus had an unexpected epipen need a few months back too, from a newly discovered sunflower seed allergy after eating some crackers. Fortunately we always have one on hand for my son.

Yup it has a much higher top quality than Spotify's top quality. My ears didn't realize what they were missing!

I did the same a couple weeks back. Anticipated playlist transfer pain kept me from doing it earlier, but yeah that hasn't been a problem at all. Now I'm hearing things in songs I've never heard before and I'll never be able to go back.

Missing it this year as we are on PEI, but otherwise we would definitely be out and about. Always a good time.

There's definitely some contrary ones out there, but by and large they're good folks.

And other Atlantic Canadians don't really notice because I basically sound like them.

Although I've had NB friends say I sound like a Newfie & NL friends say I sound like a NBer, so I dunno. I think it's probably just subtle things I've picked up from both.

I didn't grow up there so while I've picked up some Newfoundland ways of speaking from dad, I think that + childhood time in NS + most of life in NB gives me an all encompassing Atlantic Canadian way of speaking.
