What women on the left already knew before the files came out is that men can imagine a world of class consciousness (Chomsky), a universe more expansive than ever before known (Hawking), a world where you can live forever (Attia) but not a world where women are fully human.

But among the many horrible, horrible things happening right now: a dismantling of the public science funding system in the US that helped make so many advances possible. It isn't perfect (no human endeavor is) but the world will be poorer without it
Here's the thing: almost all of science is people working together.
(no shade at all on the quoted post - I agree!)
Some other things we've done with science and working together in my lifetime: fixed the ozone hole, made AIDS a chronic disease, found a cure for sickle cell anemia...

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things
