I cannot understand what these people think the purpose of human life is?

It is *not* "pursue joy, deal justly, love well, try to understand as much and see as much of this beautiful world and of the deepness, richness and variety of human culture and experience as you can before you die"?

seems perfect imo, who could have an issue with this?!

It's properly unconscionable that the Home Office has created this situation. It should never have been allowed to happen and once it did happen it should have been immediately reversed.

This new study may have detected epigenetic markers for CFS.

Or, detected something completely confounding because the study size is very small and the populations are not very well matched.

When you realise that something you've been telling people is a bad idea for 7 years is actually a much worse idea than you originally thought it was.

And they still won't believe you.

Yeah this was a third party spam email, except it went right to my inbox and was remarkably well timed. Spooky

Have to say the NMR Genesis website - which lets you build custom NOAH supersequences, and provides killer documentation and instructions - is awesome.

nmr-genesis.co.uk

And it breaks my heart that its no longer actively being maintained.

A simpler experiment with dual receivers is just doing two 1D pulse-acquires at once, on two nuclei. E.g. 1D 1H and 1D 19F at same time. Similar sensitivity, similar natural abundance, so you get a freebie there.

NOAH supersequences

Similar issues with the NOAH supersequences.

I think the main advantage is if you're doing usual synthetic lab work, you've got plenty of material, you need a few experiments for characterisation and it isnt super important if they're the best experiments.

08.10.2025 02:14 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh right, yeah well its difficult to optimise two experiments to take the same time - its always gonna be a compromise. But yeah, effectively you're getting something for free. You have the same number of increments and same recycle delay, so you could optimise for lowest common denom.

Well it fixed itself. So thats one win for today.

HETCOR is less sensitive than HSQC yes. You do 13C detection, so you are quite a bit worse than 1H detect like HSQC/HMBC.

These experiments are usually for applications where you're not sensitivity limited, e.g. cryoprobe, high concentration, or you're doing other sensitive nuclei 19F, 31P.

I'm seeing 20 Β°C and it's the same temperature I've been running my probe at and my brain thought - for but a second - that my phone was showing me the VTU panel from the spectrometer.

Kinda neat. Acquiring two spectra on the same sample at the same time.

Have to say that Dr TOCSY HETCOR is a fantastic name for an experiment.

The person who posted this is a twitch streamer. Like, if you think computers and internet and data centers are bad for the environment, your high horse isn't that big if you're a streamer.

The 1st, 4th, 14th amendments are also pretty clear, but they're working hard to neuter and overturn them, and SCOTUS seems inclined to let them.

What, this administration wants to ignore and break the law? They want to ignore what is explicitly written in law? Surely not.
Well SCOTUS will stop them. Wait, scotus defers to the administration and abandons precedent and law without justification? Really? What?

Home Secretary tells Sky News that β€œthere is a gap in the law” when it comes to frequent, repeated protests on the same issue. Hence she will be giving police greater powers to move them to another location or time.

During a shutdown, air traffic controllers don't get paid.

Which is insane and I think airlines should pay them directly during a shutdown.
