Inks. I was half sleepy when I did it yesterday morning. It was an extra fine Atristro pen.

Watercolor layer. At this phase I added more strokes of ink plus white gouache for highlights and his goatee.

Ink outline after erasing the pencil sketch layer using a .05 Sakura Micron pen which I picked up from watching Frank Cho's process.

Final inks + watercolors. A lot of color sensations and a few layers to keep the inks transparent. I'm quite proud of how it came out.

Process: Painting in the shapes with a watercolor brush.

Significant progress made with adding the layers, colors, and pushing out some tones.

Final painting with white gouache and white colored pencil strokes added for highlights and pushing out details, black ink for the eyes.

Day 3: My friend Joe who runs a website called Neo Merch for all of you Neo Pets fans out there. When I first formally met Joe volunteering at Play NYC 2017, he gave me a pin as a memento that I wear at events as a shouout.

My Nioh 3 protagonist wields a spear, has a dark brown afro and beard similar to mine. I gave him tattoos to make him look more badass. I tried to make him look as close to me as I could.

I appreciate games that have natural hair and numerous curly hair options in their character creators. I wish Nioh 3 had more wavy hair because my hair is frizzy when I don't put product on it. I'm enjoying the Nioh 3 demo tho! I'm a sucker for open world exploration stuff.

As a fellow Studio Art major myself who has not turned my degree into a viable profession (I still practice it and have sold art here and there), I was inspired to do a pigeon series based on 2026 moods a friend posted on Slack earlier this month. Great series!

Update: Despite dozing off a few times, I enjoyed it! I'm still processing it. I like the way the director used color with the costumes and humor. I had a wonderful conversation with an older French woman about movies and French culture. There were families with kids in the theater!
