It s not a fact; both clause 42(7) of the lisbon treaty and the reinforced cooperation mechanism were designed with the idea that they could allow further development in common defense area.

The european defense community was only defeated by a few votes in the french parliament. But for the vagaries of fourth republic parliamentary tactics, the story would look very differently. There is nothing inherently anti military in the eu

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

no, my argument is there is a reason railways are crap at running them. nighttrains are not functional and too expensive to compete with flights. they are conceived for expensive holidays and leisure, not for real travelling. let's not get distracted and let's focus on crossborder highspeed lines.

30.09.2025 08:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That s in theory. In practice, the night trains are absolutely non competitive with the plane: there is too few of them,Oebb only targets them at very rich customers, railway cos hate them so they are always late, change itinerary etc.they are fun but they aren't a real alternative

30.09.2025 04:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I think that night trains are just for the hype, but they are too rare and too expensive (especially now that OeBB has introduced the new terrible cars) to actually make a real difference. We should concentrate on actual, fast, day trains and stop caring about NJ

The Effects of Immigration on the Economy: Lessons from the 1920s Border Closure - Princeton University - Department of Economics This paper is now published in the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. A common refrain in discussions of immigration policy is the concern that high rates of immigration result in fewer job...

Regular reminder: the 1920s quotas that cut immigration to the U.S. by more than 80% "did not result in higher wages for U.S.-born workers. Instead, wages fell for U.S. workers in labor markets that were most affected by the decline in immigrant numbers."

non credo che alcun economista mai abbia detto che i dazi avrebbero colpito solo gli USA. perché attaccare così gratuitamente e senza fondamento una disciplina fra le più importanti?

Thomas Fazi is a far-righter. It's rather evident. A path that bears some similarities to that of the Lega senator and anti-euro blogger Alberto Bagnai.
