I hope some day they figure out how to make an HD-2D game that doesn't look exactly the same as every other HD-2D game

Generative Al is being marketed as a tool designed to reduce or eliminate the need for developed, cognitive skillsets. It uses the work of others to simulate human output, except that it lacks grasp of nuance, contains grievous errors, and ultimately serves the goal of human beings being neurologically weaker due to the promise of the machine being better equipped than the humans using it would ever exert the effort to be. The people that use generative Al for art have no interest in being an artist; they simply want product to consume and forget about when the next piece of product goes by their eyes. The people that use generative Al to make music have no interest in being a musician; they simply want a machine to make them something to listen to until they get bored and want the machine to make some other disposable slop for them to pass the time with. The people that use generative Al to write things for them have no interest in writing. The people that use generative Al to find factoids have no interest in actual facts. The people that use generative Al to socialize have no interest in actual socialization. In every case, they've handed over the cognitive load of developing a necessary, creative human skillset to a machine that promises to ease the sweat equity cost of struggle. Using generative Al is like asking a machine to lift weights on your behalf and then calling yourself a bodybuilder when it's done with the reps. You build nothing in terms of muscle, you are not stronger, you are not faster, you are not in better shape. You're just deluding yourself while experiencing a slow decline due to self-inflicted atrophy.

And that was my trip. A great way to belatedly spend my 40th birthday milestone. I'll definitely try going again once more characters get added to Nintendo World. With any luck my power band will still be useable in a few years. Also here's my haul of souvenirs. The tag goes to the fire flower cup.

Problem is since these are taking place on the sets it's impossible to see through the crowd

There are a few photo op spots. Yes the Outatime license plate slowly rotates. They have the Delorean and presumably Einstein's great-great-great-great grandson as a photo op but the line was Highly Massive and we were tired. There are little skits that take place around the area

This Back to the Future area is part of Fan Fest. The tour tram takes you to the sets used in the 1955 portions of the first movie and you can wander freely. Totally-not-Christopher-Lloyd introduces you to the area on the way.

Universal does this thing on Friday nights called Fan Fest, where cosplay is encouraged and certain special things open up throughout the park. Yoshi is only available for photos at this time, but as new characters get introduced they'll take the Friday spot and he'll be available normally.

you're in the middle of a battle between King Kong and a T-Rex. The tram shakes in time with the video to make it feel real, and people on the sides get sprayed by water when they roar. It was really neat and kinda unnerving. Kid me would've been absolutely terrified.

Yoshi wasn't gonna be available for a few hours and we had done everything else at Nintendo World so we wandered around. Found a store that shows off high value memorabilia and sells? them. Had to get pics of classic Batman things, as well as a waste of money.

Here's some miscellaneous pics. My birthday button which did nothing of real value, the MK visor without the actual AR visor, the bathroom showing where all the excrement goes, and a part of the Bowser Jr area.

It's worth noting that the band is reusable and has miiverse stamps that require multiple visits to the park so it's well worth the price if you wanna do All The Things in Nintendo World. Also this was my score from the Mario Kart ride. The visor is like an inch from your face so it came out well.

We do the Bowser Jr. ride after, the one you need a power band to access. My sister went in with me. I wasn't able to take a video cause it's an actual Activity but it involves shadowplay AR. It was really neat and definitely worth the purchase of the band. youtu.be/8hKyFD5pZ4E?...

We sat next to a window showing the Toads' kitchen. The fourth image in the previous post is a collectible drink container. After a few loops of window happenings, Bowser comes and kills everyone. They added blue mood lighting that's not in this video when it happens. youtu.be/5gfqv3bKklk?...

Here's what we ate. I had to eat a Yoshi item but the only other thing was a melon smoothie. The cutlery was wooden and not sturdy enough to cut through some of the food without breaking. There are "windows" in the dining area that show Toads milling about Mushroom Kingdom.

When you enter, Chef Toad is on a screen talking about the cafe. I took a video but yeah. Here's some photos I took of the interior. I barely got the last one before someone moved in front of it.

At this point we had some time before our Toad Cafe reservations. We got in line early for pics with Mario and Luigi so we were able to make it.

A blooper item is used and your visor gets inked. At one point we get a star and The Music plays. The course also goes through land, air, and water spots. We ended up losing the race, I guess we didn't get enough coins? But you get a trophy for your power band regardless. Extremely worth the wait.

The kart moved through a track, but seemed to be influenced by the our steering wheel movements cause at one point it turned weirdly. As you go through the course you get hit by bananas and lightning and the actual kart spins out (reasonably slowly.)

The Mario Kart ride, Bowser's Challenge, doesn't require a band. Four people per kart. You wear an AR visor that's glasses friendly. The object of the game is to shoot Bowser and the Koopalings with shells given to you at certain intervals. You also shoot other enemies like fireballs and Bullet Bill

So the minigame involved with the power band requires that you do child friendly activities around the area to earn keys. Three keys lets you into the Special Ride, Bowser Jr's Something. My sister took videos of me doing two of the activities but sucks to be you.

This was the view once you walked inside. Or it would be but bsky hates videos apparently! Oh wellll.

A thing you can do to earn coins is hitting ? blocks. These are child height, which means not childs need to squat uncomfortably, or hit them with the side of the fist. It makes a coin noise when it works. But they didn't always work. So a bruise happened.
