case for bluesky is pretty straightforward, you can have better communities with radical customization of the feed

wait are there *two* purple forks of the bluesky app now?

- Reddit is the only open platform for local communities right now and they're becoming way more extractive
- Adds net new communities in every city, at every college, at every conference
- Makes Bluesky useful for people who use other apps
- Great for network diversity (grass touchers)

Rough idea of what I'd do running product at Bluesky:

- Add geo-tagged posts
- First class feed of nearby posts
- Add more local feeds as that becomes possible

No social media platform has worked outside very online people in the last decade, except maybe Substack. Bluesky could actually be first.
