Morning floods

The snow gave me an opportunity to capture a picture to be a Christmas card for where I work.

Many people think that as you get older, you care less about politics. But it’s not true.

You start thinking a lot more about the kind of world you want to leave behind. You want it to be better than the one you were born into.

We all have a personal legacy in mind. Mine is to outlive Trumpism.

When I loved it I called it Twitter. Now it’s my X.

1. I like it.
2. I’ve always felt that the problem with social media is that there’s no accountability. Subscribers say what they like behind a wall of anonymity. BlueSky isn’t perfect, but with checks on application and simple blocking, it’s a step in the right direction.

I’m a newbie here but heck I’m loving the accountability.

A decent couple of mornings work to create a wildlife pond. There are not enough frogs in my life.

Lovely. And I like the name Chickadees far more than our UK term…

New research across 30 countries (N = 15,202) finds that online hostility is driven by a small number of status-seeking individuals.

These folks are more hostile in situations of inequality (both online and offline) as a strategy to gain social status.
