This has also reminded me I need to update my labeller.

Quite common for Bosch bikes. Can't keep my battery on the bike when it's locked up anymore as they're too easy to lever out of the lock. Worth quite a lot of money and not really traceable either.

Maybe if it's still there tomorrow I'll try to cycle by briefly. I really want to see the size in context of the port. Quite like living nearby - other than when everything is infested with flies.

Was the visit interesting? I'm at home with a newborn, but am very interested in what I've missed. Just seeing it at Shoreham port seems like it'd be really cool.

Poll: 8 in 10 Brits would support the UK generating more energy by expanding the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure, including nearly two thirds (65%) of Reform supporters.

The new YouGov survey for Friends of the Earth also finds broad public support for fair climate policies.

My main thought when I saw it was 'how many people are going to put this back into AI to summarise it again'

I had an example of this at work where a colleague wrote ~2 pages notes in clear bullet points. They then asked AI to expand on the bullet points, making the document 15+ pages long!

I think probably because they felt this would be more valued.

Last week we were booking in an induction and we asked about balloon induction. The midwife said they didn't know much about it, so googled it and read us the description from gemini.

I don't think it was actively wrong, but it was unsettling to see it used that way by a medical professional.

Hang on, I think you're making a big mistake - one of those regions is landlocked. I propose we fix this by adding a narrow corridor to the top right.

This will provide vital sea access and cause no other problems I can think of.

That is what I meant. I like the comparison because the book & movie are the grift, falsifying past accounts and brushing over past bad behaviour (though worse in Frank Abagnale Jr's case).

I love Llandudno as an example, since it also grew in large part because of a new railway - and one where tourism along the route was also not at all the main objective.

A great show of community strength against far-right hate on Saturday in Aldershot. 70 people including trade unions, faith groups, community groups and organisations joined Rushmoor SUTR and Rushmoor United to counter the far-right demo targeting asylum seekers in a local hotel.

We are proud to be a trans-inclusive organisation, and believe that we cannot fight for a greener and fairer world if gender diverse and intersex people are left behind. Securing a better future for all starts by ensuring people can live with autonomy, safety and joy, no matter their identity.

Are these cars / vans associated with the bits of construction going on down there? Seems mad they are blocking so much of the access.

Israel killed 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers one by one, says UN Workers on a mission to help colleagues were buried in mass grave in southern Gaza, says humanitarian office

The link in Jonathan's post appears to be broken so here it is again: www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Killing paramedics and rescue workers is horrifying, but it's just a drop in the ocean of horror happening in Gaza right now.

“While travelling to the area on the fifth day we encountered hundreds of civilians fleeing under gunfire,” Whittall said. “We witnessed a woman shot in the back of the head. When a young man tried to retrieve her, he too was shot. We were able to recover her body using our UN vehicle.”

I know that when they are referencing international law they are referring to things like war crimes and genocide - not to non-violent protests.

Quakers in Britain condemn six arrests of Youth Demand at meeting house Police raided the property where pro-Palestine Youth Demand were meeting on Thursday.

A further 5 were arrested separately and "Out of the 11 people arrested, ten have been released on bail and one person will face no further action."

www.bbc.com/news/article...

The focus should be on the protest crackdown, Quakers are just rightly using their platform to call attention to it.

I think you'd have to stretch the definition of both significantly to apply them to Youth Demand. I doubt they are planning any international crimes!
