Wow.
<facepalm>
And I reflected back on some discussions on here, where any difference in point of view has been subject to ad hominem attack, and calling the divergent point (and it's presenter) inherently evil.
We separate into tribes without knowledge or understanding.
Chimp poop.
It's all just chimp poop now...
I was in a conversation with a couple of friends of long standing (who have different political viewpoints from mine) and we agreed that, at a certain level, people are still chimpanzees who throw poop at each other when we're upset. A pleasant and interesting talk.
So, other than bad data, statistical manipulation, and being correlation-based with no causal chain, what's the problem?
(In case someone isn't sure, that's sarcasm.)

When we try to find our politics neatly reflected back to us in each of these acts, we forget that the bullet itself is often the message."
21.09.2025 16:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We have reached the point where people can be murdered for their opinions, or where they work, or their ethnicity, and some segment of the population will be OK with it, because they can blame it on "the other side."

20.09.2025 10:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Your sarcasm almost lost me, until that last sentence. Then I read all your other comments.
You make a lot of assumptions based on the idea that I disagree with you in one area.
Sorry, I don't "toe the line" on either side. Life and reality are too complex for that.
I might agree that you are morally superior in some aspects of your life, if I knew you better.
However, from your statements, I have reason to suspect that some areas of your life can stand improving, as can mine.
Ah, yes. The uninvited dude. Sorry, I didn't realize this was a private party.
Carry on.
Just remember that if freedom of speech only protects speech you like, it doesn't protect your speech, either.
19.09.2025 18:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, there's always someone for whom one reply isn't scathing enough.
You're making a lot of assumptions about me, and my positions. That isn't dialogue.
I don't claim superiority, I just try to call it as I see it. Feel free to disagree. That's what freedom of speech is for.
So, you can't handle that she chose a different lifestyle without calling her evil?
Interesting...
As we continue to objectify the "other", to make accusations and assumptions of evil intent, to identify another person as inherently evil, simply because we disagree, we enable our own thoughts to walk the path to murder.
If you're tempted to say "that was horrible, but..." you're already there.
I came over to BlueSky because I thought there was hope of a social media platform where people could discuss, disagree, and still be decent people about it.
Lately I'm seeing a lot of dehumanizing, categorizing, speech, of the sort that turns another human being into a target.
This episode was right up there with TNG's "Darmok". Pretty danged impressive comparison.

SO, here's the question:
Who in the Administration short-sold Kenvue (the company that makes Tylenol) this week?
I haven't been on in a while, for personal reasons, but when I saw this article from the Third Way think tank, I thought it just might start a fruitful discussion:

30.07.2025 11:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There's a lot more history involved than that, like the fact that a lot of the land was <purchased, legally> by Jews from the local residents, before 1948.

Seriously, we are seeing people saying they regret voting for Trump, and comments like this tell them that Democrats don't want their votes.
Progressives consistently shoot themselves in the foot because it feels good to vent.
