I got a glare in return, probably, quite reasonably percieving my stare as creepy. I am so glad she is still making art.

My gosh, I was coincidentally in the same room as her in the 90's. I'd been to more than one exhibition by then. I remember looking/staring at her in my way, absorbing all the details of the moment; she was a compelling presence in any room.

Because LLM/GenAI's are ontologically different, they should be able to present data/ideas in novel ways. But I have yet to be exposed to instances that appear to be truly insightful; which may be due to my own limitations.

Proponents/apologists argue that they frees up the brain for higher executive tasks, using the digital calculator analogy. As a social scientist, I'm unsure what these executive tasks are.

I'm always mindful that every time I use it, I risk becoming a less competent writer and at my age, that is not a good thing. Cognitive effort (however conceived) appears to be important to the health of ageing brains. Brains are less active when using LLM/GenAI's .

Occasionally, when I'm in a hurry I'll use it to re-write/phrase a sentence. Beyond that LLM/GenAI's fail to preserve nuance in what I write. This I suspect is because meaning for LLM/GenAI's lacks contextual grounding and is stochastic in unhelpful ways.
