Two boys with shoulder-length hair, one brunette, the other black-haired, wearing thick-lensed heavy-rimmed glasses. Kankichi Azemura is bellowing, "Don't disrespect people from Tochigi!", which is a funny way to say Charlestown.

In 2025, anime viewership on Netflix grew by more than 10% year-over-year. But what exactly did the claimed ~165 million anime viewers on Netflix actually watch?

For the majority, though, it's more like In/Spectre or Gibiate, where CR's role is not as central. Still valuable to have them on the committee for all parties, generally.

Netflix used the "Netflix Original" for many titles they had no role in production for.

For Crunchyroll, it depends. Some of them, like Solo Leveling and TBATE, it's functionally the same as the CR Originals like Meiji Gekken: 1874 or Tower of God, where they likely wouldn't have been made without.
