No goals yet despite a nice FK chance for Stanley, I guess they're missing Blake by how they missed the Goal completely.

Into Extra time for this Round 3 Cup Tie! #USOC

Still 0-0 between Miami FC and Indy Eleven.

It feels like Indy Elevens goal is inevitable, the shots on target and off target are numerous and thrive on the attack.

But Miami FC showed they have claws, with very close chances. But Indy is clearly comfortable to keep Miami FC on the back foot.

I have to say very disappointed by the match against North Carolina F.C. - despite the many chances created by Indy, they conceded in typical Home Ground fashion - in what feels like a loss of 2 points rather than a scraping of 1 point gained.

Some might say it was rigged but would the honorable Ref Vader ever match fix? I can't see how he would be biased at all.

Hoping for another good signing, a good Striker, maybe not a Bojan, but someone to replace Sokler at the least during the injury time. (And not be so reliant on Ambrose).

Also, Kristers Tobers sounds like a name from Narnia I swear.

Why Can't Your City Have a Professional Team? The American Sports Monopoly

I have to agree with this video entirely. The whole point of American capitalism is to promote meritocracy. But yet the professional sports industry creates closed systems/leagues that discourages innovation, growth and community development.

So, if there is another league you want to watch because maybe you want something different than the English Pyramid of Football. I encourage you to have a watch of the Scottish Football. I promise it won't be boring.

I am talking about Miovski, McKenna, Ramadani and Lewis Ferguson.

Thats just Aberdeen. Which has several players who play for their country too like Bulgaria, Montenegro, Finland, Ireland and Scotland of course.

The other teams outside of OF have hidden gems to watch out for.

26.12.2024 16:05 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The Scottish Premiership is vastly underrated. While Celtic and Rangers dominating is terrible. It's a great place to look for players who will get into the top 5 leagues. Aberdeen for example, had players who got their break and recently left for La Liga, The Premier League, and Serie A.

26.12.2024 16:05 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That is a very valid reason for sure and I don't blame you at all. I never liked the ownership system of clubs for this reason.

I think we could benefit from a Bundesliga style rule of fan ownership.

24.12.2024 00:59 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

As an aside if a MLS/USL team isn't near you then I would understand why, but local culture for teams is such an important part of community building that is often overlooked.

It's something that the NBA and MLB have done very well with teams showing connection to their heritage.

23.12.2024 22:23 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think that as an immigrant myself it's kind of a shame that the Americans love football (soccer) loving premier League teams more than MLS/USL teams.

The love that people like John Green and Tom Hanks pump into the Prem (plus all the other wealth folks) could really be used for local teams.
