Back from vacation. Managed to watch a few things. #LastFourWatched

Summer in NYC.

We did the $20 rental thing when this first came out. Loved it. Figured it was because we were all so sad and it brought us joy. Watched it a second time a month later to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. Still loved it. Watching it for a third time I can, without a doubt, say I LOVE this movie.

I just watched a movie that caused such a negative visceral reaction (white hot anger) for several reasons, the biggest being that it was set in Chicago with American actors yet filmed in Dublin.

We all have our kindertrauma moments, and many of us owe a great thanks to Mary Lambert’s PET SEMATARY. While most people cite Zelda, the achilles slice, Gage’s death, or dead Gage as their moment, mine is this one. Fucked me up big time.

Growing up we were told this was the most disturbing film ever made. Watching it for the first time this morning and I forgot how much I hate mondo films. An absolute snooze fest with an abundance of animal cruelty.
