The fact we have secret police whisking people off the streets doesn’t get enough attention. It ain’t normal and we’re further down the road to authoritarianism than you think.

It’s amazing how fast they can build a concentration camp: “Alligator Alcatraz”— but they can’t manage to fix a levee, fund a hospital, or get clean water to poor communities.

Here’s the next book on my list that I’ll be getting into. I “read” it senior year of high school (basically used sparknotes) and also didn’t have the capacity to appreciate and understand the contents of this book. So, I want to give it another try especially given our political climate now 😒
