Indeed! My childhood best friend was killed at age 23, and I know he would have wanted me to go on and live my life to the fullest. I miss him terribly, but I am grateful for the time we had. My life is so much better knowing him and to have lost him than not knowing him at all.

When I left Florida 8 years ago, I had a master's degree and earned $36K a year. This was only 8 years ago. It was difficult to make ends meet. I since moved to Washington State, and earn a decent living, more than 3x what I earned in Florida. It's ridiculous.
