Watching the press conference last night made me so angry I had to hold back tears. It’s absolutely maddening how much Trump doesn’t represent the US today. As an American, I feel immense shame.

Absolutely infuriating.

I remember when I worked a location in Los Angeles, I was asked to help work at the closing Pasadena store. The amount of people coming in and tearfully explaining how much they were going to miss it as it had been formative for them was staggering. Now I’m living through that reality myself.

I’m so heartbroken that Joann is closing. Issues of chain stores aside, I worked at two locations years ago and both are closing. The company was always good to me and they are the main game in town for sewing/craft projects. They will be greatly missed.

Same. I worked at Joann at my local store and at one in another state… I’m pretty heartbroken. I went in today and couldn’t bare to stay long.

We need stories about people who look different from us so we can see how similar we actually are. They mention knowing they were different at the age of 5. Kids are so much smarter than some give them credit for when it comes to gender. Banning books is absolutely not the answer!

Happy Black History Month, all! I’ve been dying to read this book for well over a year, so when I saw it on a display at my local library I snagged it. I am having trouble putting it down - it tells the author’s story of growing up Black and queer.

I’ve been trying to find the words to say everything on my mind lately, but for now, I’m appreciating that this view is outside the back door of the studio I teach at every Saturday morning. Soaking it in in my last few minutes before I unlock the door and let the children in.

I stopped using Facebook days ago because I was feeling constantly distracted, bored, and obsessively checking my phone. I already feel my bearings coming back, and my mind is clearer. Much like when I’m home alone without my children around, I can hear myself think.

My heart is breaking seeing so many areas I love burn.
