Conscious I haven’t yet posted a photo of #SophiefromRomania today - I let the Prof take her out in the pouring rain this morning but she returned perfectly cheerful

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

I have not yet seen the poems in the book but a rather period cover illustration much to my taste.

Let’s hope the species’ success this year means a return to the UK as a breeding bird. In Norfolk we have missed them.

A bit early for this week’s #wildflowerhour #harebellchallenge but too lovely not to share.

(As I typed this, a young hare bolted from just behind me.)

I have two very distinct flavours of Episyrphus balteatus in my garden at the moment: standard-issue ones with broad orange stripes and teeny weeny, much darker ones. I imagine - on the basis of zero evidence- that they have different migratory / generational origins.
