Got the preorder on my kindle literally 20 minutes before I got on a plane Thursday. Good read and good way to pass a five hour flight.

So you end up with something looking like this. Once you have that, it tessellates quickly into any size of grid

Key bit is the interior lines have to be twice as thick as the boarder lines, that way you can tile the base pattern while maintaining even line thickness

And it’s a tricky workflow because there are zero tutorials on how to do this since most artists don’t need grids in their final products.

But the grid itself? Actually pretty easy once you get the workflow down. Just gotta work smarter instead of harder.

Holy shit, I figured out how to make battlemap grids in Procreate.

Not the map itself, the *grid.* Procreate can overlay a grid onto your canvas as a reference, but that doesn’t show up when you export.
