The corner post of a wrought iron fence. It's a totally normal fence except that the post is crowned with a lovely, somewhat abstract sculpture of a snail in its shell.

I must have walked by this fence hundreds of times but today I noticed that the posts are crowned with little snail sculptures of varying sizes and poses.

The young drummer boy in the monument depicts Henri Christophe, who after leaving Savannah helped his people free themselves from French rule. This is one of my favorite monuments in town.
