I have no games at all on my review/preview schedule. Weird.

Current status- Testing out my wife's Kindle account on the new iPad. I've never read a book digitally before, only good old analog ink and paper, and I don't see that ever being anything but the preferred method. But so far so good, it works

Book is How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying. Fun!

Me- Hey, that game looks cool enough I might override my deckbuilding insta-disinterest!

No 6-game box to replace the 5-game box that held what had been the complete series up to that point? Of course, if there's a Shantae 7 we'd then need another new box, and for eventual game 10 it would have to be a steel crate, but I'm ok with that.

A new upbeat cleaning game showed up today with @koobazaur.bsky.social and crew's Cleaning Up. It's a cute and fun one, and tearing through the sheer volume of individual trash items on screen with the vacuum is both entertaining and satisfying.

Much as I’m enjoying my very first OLED monitor, an @asusrog.bsky.social 27” 1440p beastie, there are some cringe-worthy aspects.

Heading Out Into the Retro ARPG World in Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Demo The Adventures of Elliott is a fantastic-looking throwback to a type of RPG Square Enix hasn't done anything with in far too long.

It's a very specific flavor of action-RPG @square-enix-games.com is aiming for with The Adventures of Elliott: The Millennium Tales, judging by the demo, a throwback to something like Threads of Fate or even SNK's Crystalis. I'm absolutely there for it.

It's the weirdest thing! I never played it but I understand they had months of regular updates right up until it took off. Good for them for the success and all, but it would bug the hell out of me wondering how much farther the game could have gone, if I was part of the development team.

Battlebit But Furries and the developers don't disappear at the height of the game's popularity.

Another Day, Another Apocalypse in the Sun-Fried World of StarRupture's Playtest For those who enjoy exploring and building everything a game has to offer, the StarRupture playtest can already consume a good number of hours.

Spent the weekend playing @starrupture-game.com's StarRupture playtest and don't regret a minute of it, other than the minutes when I got my face eaten by hopping, spitting spider-aliens. First-person survival adventure with automation elements to earn new tech.

Living as Hunter and Hunted in the Dinosaur Lands in Primal Planet Launch Trailer When a caveman is separated from his wife and child after a dinosaur attack he sets out in a metroidvania adventure to catch back up.

A good day (yesterday) for dinos as @prettysoongames.bsky.social‬'s Primal Planet released. It's a metroidvania with cavemen and dinosaurs and aliens, with excellent pixel art selling its wordless story.

Runk Prophecy- No clue but I'll take a look to find out

Runic Prophecy- Another soulslike in a dark & ashen "Who turned out the lights?" world.

Looking over the new demos list on Steam, I've got to say I was way more curious about Runk Prophecy than Runic Prophecy.

I'd be happy with the game being available again but what I really want is a new one. The scale of the terrain vs. the vehicles was way off, but I loved strapping a few rocket engines and some wings together to soar around the first area. I'd do terrible things for a semi-open-world Nuts & Bolts.

Well my brain just fried reading that and seeing it attributed to MTG.

Second place is still a respectable showing.

Poor Turbografx in 3rd place...

Love the way the lateral movement really shows off the depth of the sun's atmosphere in a way standard 2D imagery doesn't allow.

Rhythm Storm Lights Up Steam With Full Release Trailer Rhythm Storm is a fantastic horde/survivors shooter that focuses on all the important details wrapped up in particle/vector visual overload.

It's been a while since a survivors-style roguelike got its hooks in me like Rhythm Storm, but despite being a little short the flow of the game is just right. Playing with different tanks and builds gives it legs, tweaking all the stats to clear Elite difficulty.

Returning to the Depths of the New Underworld in Neon Abyss 2 The new gods are acting up again so it's back into the pit, grabbing every relic and weapon you can find in a side-view roguelike run & gun adventure.

Went up earlier this week while I was away- Neon Abyss 2 lands in Early Access, aiming to expand the first game in every direction. Run & gun roguelike taking down the new gods of the current age, with each run evolving differently than the last.
