July 27, 1775: The Continental Army votes to establish a “hospital” or medical service for the Army of up to 20,000 troops outside Boston. As the director and chief physician of the service it appoints Benjamin Church, unaware that this aide to George Washington is a British spy.

Signed copies of Paul Revere's Ride: An Illustrated History are still available at the Paul Revere House (while supplies last). It's the first book ever produced that illustrates the key moments of Revere's ride based on his own handwritten accounts located at the Massachusetts Historical Society.
