Did you know you can actually be your own Secret Santa?
All you need is some tequila and Amazon Prime.

There is no moral justification for this extraordinary level of inequality.
It's distorting politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
Just as I predicted!
Right after election, voters views on "THE ECONOMY" suddenly flipped
Republicans who said economy was "getting worse" has dropped from 82%-->59%
Vice versa for Democrats: percent "getting better" dropped from 63%->46%
Yet NOTHING'S CHANGED.
Biden's still President.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!
I'm grateful for football on a Thursday afternoon and finishing my Christmas shopping before December.
Wishing all my friends in the US who celebrate Thanksgiving a delicious and relaxing day. Please reply with any picture of cats (or other, lesser animals) eyeing up turkeys and marshmallow yams.
28.11.2024 15:56 β π 1372 π 76 π¬ 52 π 3President-Elect Donald Trump will move to put tariffs on Canada, China, and Mexico until they meet demands to halt illegal migration and the flow of drugs, he posted on his social media Truth Social yesterday.
Here's what to know about tariffs:
A key comparative lesson of elections across the world in the last few years is that ~all incumbent leaders -- left and right, populist and not, presidential and parliamentary, democratic and sorta democratic -- all get hammered when there is inflation.
No reason to believe Trump will be immune.
Musk has now threatened the leaders of Canada,Brazil, Germany. X helped create a riot in the UK. Now it seems he doesn't want the UK to make its own legal decisions. Time to act?

We find these are generally consistent across people and countries, with benevolence being most important in determining trust judgements.

He may (hopefully) just be posturing. He could easily claim right after inauguration that his threats have already forced Canada and Mexico to make significant changes. And, to a certain extent, he may be correct.

Thankfully, USC played one of the only teams that the football gods appear to hate more than us currently.

For new followers, I wrote an essay for The Walrus a few weeks back on why we should be worried about the next Quebec Referendum. #Sorry

While the polling numbers aren't there yet, I agree with Wells that a Poilievre win followed by a PQ win could pave the way.
Can the (federal) Liberals or CAQ get it figured out? Can the (provincial) Liberals mount a challenge?

1) it is great not to be inundated with trolls,
2) I'm seeing far fewer posts that make me want to throw my phone against the wall.
While this seems lovely, my fear is that it will ultimately serve to increase polarization and to distract from everyday problems people face.
It feels like the first day at a new school.

Hoping to make new friends.
But totally expecting that I'll be talking to myself (is that the ultimate echo chamber?).
Well... you only get one chance at a first impression.
