Another idea is a “book that shuts the fuck up,” where the author, alive or dead, is not turned into worthless content slurry for some dickhead CEO to make more money. The book sits atop the large language bank that is only the book and nobody converses with shit, you just fucking read it.

I don't know which big name SFF/H authors need to hear this, but small/indie trad publishers are still active in the marketplace. There are many of them publishing many books. Many of those books have even ended up in 2024 Best Of lists.

If you think about it, the very best books are really just extremely long spells that turn you into a different person for the rest of your life
