I had never heard of it. While I probably complained heartily at times, I’d actually consider rereading it…with more knowledge now of what I was getting into.
So I did kind of like it.

And I didn’t mean exactly that hard is bad. Hard can be good 🤔. After all, I read #InfiniteJestTogether and #summerofGenji. And of course #prousttogether! Bit hard+disliking narrator+lack of understanding = a different kind of hard. Make any sense?

These books were hard for me. Not hard to read. Hard to take anything from.
Whatever it is in Knausgaard’s writing I find so compelling wasn’t here.

The comments were interesting but I was often as confused by them as by the text.

I’ve been wanting to read Independent People. I did read Paradise Reclaimed several years ago. Then meant to continue on with Independent People and Salka Valka. But other books came along. You know how that is 😂.
