Hereβs a sketch I did recently of the #fantasticfour #marvel
A photo of a sketchbook, white paper except where the erasable colored pencil had a meltdown and smudged everywhere. On the left side there is a blue rectangle. Centered on the rectangle are two flowers and a butterfly. On the right the same butterfly appears two more times along with the lower flower now in color. Taped haphazardly to the page there are two tracing paper cut outs. One of the lower flower from the left. One of the butterfly. I didn't want to toss them as I used them to refine my butterfly after my initial sketch on the left. In the bottom left I wrote: "Photo Reference: @friendshipdave.wtf Aug 11th, 2024" because that is the Bluesky handle of the person that posted the photo I used to draw this. I don't know them and they don't know me so I won't tag them. It's awkward on here, should I have asked for permission? I don't sell my artwork, i just wanted to doodle their butterfly photo. If I ever make something more "final" looking in reference to their photo I'll post it as a quote repost of their original post with the photo. I think that's fair. Please stop reading the alt text now.

Panel 1: Two swans, floating on a water, very swan-ily. P2: Same POV, but now the swans have raised their wings. P3: Again, same POV, but now the wings are fully up, and the swans' necks are lowered and extended. P4: GO! The swans shoot forward at speed, leaving trails of water in their wake. Their necks are fully extended, beaks open. P5: A side-on view of water against a green sky. P6: Same POV, but now the swans have burst into view. However, the only thing moving --at tremendous speed-- are their necks, stretching out impossibly. P7: We close in on a side-on view of the swans' heads, beaks closed in a look of swan-y determination. They are literally neck & neck. P8: The background begins to swirl as the swans pick up speed. They spiral towards the centre from the upper left & lower right corners. P9: A dramatic reveal of a Jack Kirby-like cosmic scene, with a blazing sun in the bottom right corner, and a "krackle" filled purple sky. The swans' necks spiral around each other

Omg. It's up! Halfway hanging I had one of those sunken moments where you feel so much despair because well, tired and there seems to be no end to it. But I do know perseverance always makes it worth it, so I managed!
