Like yeah, if we ignore all evidence to the contrary, she could have won 4 months ago. What's your plan for tomorrow? Are we still pretending that we can "wait til midterms" and go back to "normal"?
Be serious.
Similarly: listening to a lot of leftist news has taught me everyone's got a ben shapiro impression on a hair trigger

04.03.2025 18:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Oh, you're me but luckier" is a pretty common refrain whenever I'm in a rough run lol. If you stay interested enough to get deeper into the mechanics you might check out howbazaar.gg , a fan built wiki. It's a good tool for at least determining what an enchant does or what npc to fight
28.02.2025 16:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It does get better as you start to figure out what triggers are good to look for to either build into or counter the current meta. But even after a couple months it's easy to go from "I'm an unstoppable god" to "I'm a buffoon" based largely on RNG. Satisfying when you do build the god engine tho

03.01.2025 17:17 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's fair. I think I sounded a little more negative than I actually am on the writing, because in the end I did find it charming enough to keep coming back. But yeah, the driving felt almost like it had built in mouse acceleration, even though I was on a controller
21.12.2024 17:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maybe a bad pick for my first review, but we're all just posting into the wind. Hopefully I'll get better at putting my thoughts in order for the next one. Thanks for reading. I love you bye
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Overall Cloudpunk is a weird one for me. I found myself frustrated while playing it, but coming back to it excited to just sit in the ambiance. Overall I would highly suggest picking it up while it's on sale and playing through, maybe with a movie or podcast on the other monitor. 11/11
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One thing I really can't abide though is the driving controls. They somehow managed to make the car feel both slippery and overweight. For me the worst part of this driving game was the driving and it's not even close. 10/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The visual design of the city was genuinely incredible and I'd love to see this group build something in that voxel style again. I often found myself in awe that people built this. In a way that higher fidelity games don't hit the same. Something about the low poly made it feel more hand crafted 9/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It sounds a lot like I'm shitting all over this game but that's not the intent. I found myself enjoying my time with Cloudpunk sometimes in spite of itself but often I felt genuinely interested in the lives of the people you met. Mostly the side characters, honestly, but invested nonetheless 8/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That brings me to the actual writing, which felt a little juvenile. I touched on it a bit above, but the dog/Rania interaction is not too much more simplified than it is in the game and also not all that different from your interactions with the rest of the main story characters 7/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm not exactly expecting the next great philosopher of our time. That's a little outside of scope. But I'd have liked if the game had more to say or maybe just gotten to the point a little faster. I dunno, I just found myself wanting more after each little post quest blurb 6/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The talks with your dog often come across as
Dog: "Good things are good, bad things are bad"
Rania: "I know, but sometimes doing bad things means you get to eat."
Which is fine, but not exactly treading new ground. 5/x
I loved that a lot of your in game decisions are essentially read back to you as your character Rania describes them to her "dog" companion, even though it often comes off as a bit hamfisted and shallow. 4/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's something that I think Cloudpunk does right. Obviously it's not sunshine and rainbows, but it never feels like you're just spinning you wheels and waiting for the next fucked up thing to happen. You're making decisions or hearing from locals with every job. 3/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I do appreciate that Cloudpunk seemed to understand the genre in a way that I didn't feel with Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk media can often drag its characters and its message through the mud, but at its core it's not a genre about suffering needlessly 2/x
21.12.2024 02:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Promotional art for the game Cloudpunk. A woman in a flowing cloak leans against a high-tech car with a cyberpunk neon backdrop
Played Cloudpunk recently and as much as I wanted to like it I just couldn't fully get myself immersed into it. The world was interesting, the voxel based design was genuinely incredible, but the characters and especially the dialogue just fell flat for me. Spoilers to follow 1/x
