It’s a type of body/repetition addictive/compulsive/impulsive disorder where you pull out your hair. Most people are familiar with onychophagia (nail biting) and dermatillomania (skin picking)

I was part of the wash u schizophrenia study a few years (…well…a lotta years) back and credit the treatment I received through that program to my symptom management.

My whole life I was told my trichotillomania was not curable or manageable beyond what I had already achieved and I am very hype to see if this new course of treatment/therapy can help alleviate symptoms

My past experience is also why I’m always like “yall, publishers do actually pay some people real money, they use more resources on other creators - and that inequity is a large part of why marginalized creators are have a much harder time surviving, much less thriving, in this industry.

I do not ever recommend going into business where one person has more money / social capital than the others. It doesn’t go well because people with more power rarely like to share it. However - if you have equal stakes/conflict resolution things tend to be more equitable. I’m a big fan of co-ops

I worked in animation, but it’s a meat grinder. When I left, I did (free) assisting work in comics for several years. Eventually that graduated into colorist work, lettering, book design, my own comics & a shared comic business where I was taken advantage of. Now I’m big into labor equity in comics

My dream would be to do a Vat Spawn LARP next pax u where we all get together and go do some civic good somewhere before or after the show days.

Sometimes when you do cons so much you forget how many long distance friends you may not get to see 4x a year because you spend so long seeing them 4x a year on a con circuit.

I got to see one of my best friends today and damn, it feels so good.
