Trump enacted all their stupid hateful garbage federally and in days they roll out even crueler shit
They won't be happy until we're all dead
Iowa was the first state to ban school segregation, and one of the very first to allow same-sex marriage. It used to be so progressive!
Three days ago, it was illegal to discriminate against someone for being trans. It’s the very first state that’s ever explicitly taken that right away.
Trans Erasure bills create legal definitions of terms like “sex” designed to exclude or erase trans identity and insert them into various laws. This can have many different effects, depending on what laws are affected. They can force a male or female designation based on sex assigned at birth. Some target anti-discrimination statutes, legally empowering trans discrimination. New Bills: Idaho introduced document bill H0363 yesterday. Old Bills: Wyoming passed bill HB0032 through the Senate yesterday and sent it back to the House. Montana passed bill SB437 through its committee yesterday and sent it to the Senate floor.
Digital Censorship Bills describe any legislation that potentially targets Queer and Trans media/material for removal. They typically do this by using vague and broad definitions of "Obscene" or "Harmful to Minors" and then banning such content from being accessible to minors, which often either removes the material entirely or requires age verification methods in order to view. This includes online censorship bills, library book bans, and other such legislation. Old Bills: Iowa passed bill HF62 through its committee yesterday and sent it to the House floor. New Hampshire held a hearing for bill HB293 yesterday, during which the bill was retained in committee until further notice. Wyoming passed bill HB0043 through the Senate yesterday and sent it back to the House.
Most sports bills force schools to designate teams by sex assigned at birth. They are often one-sided and ban trans girls from playing on teams consistent with their gender identity. Some egregious bills even force invasive genital examinations on student athletes. Old Bills: Utah bill HB0424 was placed on the Senate calendar for its second reading yesterday.
In other bills that either fit multiple categories or stand on their own, we have: New Bills: Arkansas introduced foster care discrimination bill HB1669 yesterday and sent it to the House Aging, Children and Youth, & Legislative Affairs Committee. Arkansas introduced bill HB1668 yesterday and sent it to the House Judiciary Committee. This bill allows anyone who supports trans kids to be sued for "supporting social transition/castration." Old Bills: Florida gave bills H1495, H1571, H1307, and H0731 their first House readings yesterday. The bills are all now awaiting committee assignments. Utah bill HB0413 failed to pass its committee yesterday and was returned to the Senate Rules Committee. Montana sent bill HB446 to the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. Montana scheduled bills HB638 and HB635 for their second House reading yesterday.

To all of you claiming I was being alarmist, from the bottom of my heart, I hope you step on a rake that was laying on a rattlesnake and that the snake bites you.

I saw a post saying that ICE is pausing its tip line, so I decided to call myself to verify.
The recorded voicemail said they are not currently accepting immigration status tips.
Good job, friends.
The transgender community in this country is around 1% of the population. ONE PERCENT. Why so much hate? Because it’s a Nazi tactic and MAGA falls in line.

They CANNOT erase us. We have ALWAYS existed. We will ALWAYS exist. They CANNOT take our joy. Please live. Live to spite them. We need to fight by living loudly and joyfully.
Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.
It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.
2. One Iowa Action has announced that Kim Reynolds is pushing a bill to remove trans people from the civil rights act.
If passed, it would be the first state to remove rights from an entire protected class.
For every executive order, bill or funding cut that targets marginalized people, let’s counter with an act of kindness.
Cut SNAP funding? Give to a community fridge
Cut PrEP funding? Give to AIDS organizations.
Mask bans? Wear a mask!
Attacks on trans rights? Amplify trans creators.
1. Iowa governor Kim Reynolds is pushing a new bill that would remove transgender people from the state civil rights act. Another bill would classify trans people as disabled.
Attacks escalate in state legislatures.
