I have decided the best course of action will be to get a donor EJ251 engine and rebuild it. That way I get practice and if I do a good job I can just swap it into SubaRuth. Thankfully I did manage to find a free one and will be picking it up this week! #Subaru 🌈

I've also been to a pick & pull (WAY cheaper parts) to get some of the cosmetic things she needs & will post those videos as soon as I get them edited. So if you are interested in learning along w/someone who knows nothing abt cars, follow along! #subie #subaru #LGBTQIA 3/3

So the 1st repair will be the oil pan! A new pan & gasket have been ordered from

& I am busy watching all the videos I can. It looks like it would make sense to also change the oil filter at the same time & bonus I will be learning how to change the oil! 2/3

SubaRuth is back home w/some not great news abt repairs. But hey, how hard can it be? Boys do it!
Shops wants $17k 🙃but we're working on a college student budget (aka loans) & I will be prioritizing repairs based on the very scientific "what might kill me first" metric 1/3

SubaRuth going in for the airbag recall & to be checked out. Pretty sure the tie rods or suspension is sus. REALLY hoping it is not the rear cross member sub-frame rusted out bc apparently there was a recall for that back in 2003 & the free repair it was only good for 10 yrs 😭#subaru
