There are horrors upon horrors being visited upon us—lives and families destroyed, time and money and property lost, to say nothing of the stress and trauma. But each new violation only consecrates the resistance and strengthens our resolve. We will accept nothing but total victory.

People keep saying "Getting arrested is bad, actually" and while I'd certainly prefer not to be, the administration's entire strategy is built around the idea that I will live in fear of it, and shape my behavior to avoid it, and cry in shame if I am. That is how THEY CONTROL YOU.

ICE Expands Power of Agents to Arrest People Without Warrants

Scoop: Federal agents were told this week that they have broader power to arrest people without a warrant, according to an internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo reviewed by The New York Times.

DHS doesn’t even bother trying to lie well. The man whose skull was shattered told the hospital he’d been struck by ICE officers, an ICE officer told hospital staff the guy “got his sh*t rocked,” then when it became clear how badly he was injured, they claimed he deliberately ran into a wall.

This is just insane. It’s only a matter of time before DHS kills another innocent person here.

What we found is bleak. Attorneys told us they’re struggling to get information in to or out of ICE and Customs and Border Protection facilities, which are holding nearly 69,000 people this month. And detainees often are forced to choose between remaining in crowded, squalid conditions or leaving the country immediately. Judges in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles have ordered the government to facilitate attorney-client communications at Homeland Security buildings. But attorneys say that doesn’t always happen. Even if detainees get the option, some worry they’ll be punished if they take it.

Lawyers can't reach clients in ICE detention. I've heard it anecdotally, but scale of issue is horrifying.

Adding to this news: four more children from Liam’s Columbia Heights school district are believed to be still in TX in ICE custody. This includes two elementary students from Liam’s school as well as another high school and elementary student from his district, according to CH district leaders.

Press conferences and social media posts have not changed conditions on the ground. Another person taken today off of Central Ave and Northeast middle school had to delay letting kids leave because of ICE presence in the area. The federal government continues to make our community less safe.
