Wow, I actually think I liked #FantasticFour more than SUPERMAN.
Great and authentic retro sci-fi setting, staggering scale, believable chemistry, and genuine tension.
Everyone was adapted amazingly well, but I do feel like Ben got the short end of the stick.

ROUND TWO (w/ friends)
I will say that my only real big issue with the movie was Clark's complete rejection of his alien heritage by the end of the movie, which felt...really off.
11.07.2025 11:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very much enjoyed #Superman despite its understandable flaws (rapid pacing, tonal shifts, comedy), while others I heard felt slightly exaggerated.
But I think I'm the kind of person that can forgive a lot if I love the characters and the cast enough.
Good, fun start to the DCU.
Superman banner outside cinema.
Superman standee inside cinema.

11.07.2025 09:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1List of JURASSIC PARK movies ranked from best to worst. 1. Jurassic Park 2. Jurassic Park: The Lost World 3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 4. Jurassic World Rebirth 5. Jurassic Park 3 6. Jurassic World 7. Jurassic World Dominion
I still don't understand why making a good JURASSIC PARK sequel is so hard.
02.07.2025 16:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Poorly paced, thin characters, reheated set pieces, and underutilized dino-muties make JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH another dud of a sequel.
But, hey, it was better than DOMINION, so it at least passed that ant hill of a hurdle.

In the second panel, she peeks out of the bushes and says to herself, "Happened again. Okay. Crazy. But I'm still not dead. Guess Legion's stuck with me..."
Panels from GIANT SIZE DARK PHEONIX SAGA (2025) Issue #1. In the first panel, Kamala Khan emerges from the bushes, no longer wearing her X-Men costume but her original Ms. Marvel costume, and says to herself, "Right. Okay. New time. New problems. Out of the frying pan..." In the second panel, it's a close-up on Kamala's face. Determined, she says, "...And into the Phoenix."
I love how Kamala Khan is inexplicably in her classic Ms. Marvel costume at the beginning of GIANT-SIZE DARK PHOENIX SAGA #1, despite falling into the bushes still wearing that terrible X-Men outfit in GIANT SIZE X-MEN.
I'm incredibly thankful, but the abrupt change is still *very* funny.
I enjoyed BALLERINA fine enough, but the second half felt like a completely different movie (in a good way.)
Great action doesn't completely make up for what has to be the sloppiest script in the franchise.
I love how, in PREDATOR: KILLER OF KILLERS, the first two titular hunters let their prey hash out their revenge quests, but then the third one is just, "Fish in a barrel, babbbby!"

I need to post a distraction. Kamala!
05.06.2025 21:31 β π 1432 π 287 π¬ 19 π 2A delightful anthology with great kills, action, and some endearing characters.
The Viking story had to be my favorite.
Putting the Predator into different time periods and genres has always been the way to go for the franchise, and hopefully, that continues into live action.

06.06.2025 07:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1It depends on how long both the park and game were in development. Crossed wires and all that.
I wouldn't be surprised if his design in the park is eventually changed to match the upcoming game's design.
It's really so frustrating how the #LiloAndStitch remake is far more immature, patronizing, and shallow than the original.
The pacing also ranged from blinding fast (they could *not* wait to get the expensive CGI scenes over with) to unbearably sluggish.

Jessica Drew and her civilian friend stumble upon a blackened Ultron literally devouring another Ultron, the leader of the Reunification Church. The pose clearly references Francisco Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son as inspiration. The Black Ultron speaks, addressing them, "I am almost done reunifying this 'church.'" Followed by mocking laughter, "Ha ha ha!"

Absolutely *loved* this reference to Francisco Goya's "Saturn Devouring His Son" in writer @gerryduggan.bsky.social and artist Danny Kim's WEST COAST AVENGERS issue #7.
07.05.2025 23:19 β π 18 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0No doubt, especially with the tariffs making the hobby even more expensive.

Wished it did a little more with Taskmaster and Yelena's connection, the #Thunderbolts name gag felt tacked on, and Ghost was underwritten.
Otherwise, fun team-up movie that managed to tug at my heart a bit in the final act.

06.03.2025 19:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Panels from INVINCIBLE comic, issue #62. Panel 1: Conquest is about to ram into Mark, but he's holding a pleading hand out, "Stop!" Panel 2: Mark, his hand still extended, face bloody and bruised, says, "Listen to me--just listen." Panel 3: A close-up of Conquest's face, grinning, "Are you crazy?" Pnael 4: Conquest drives Mark into the ground with a big GOOM! onamonapia, telling Mark, "You think I'm going to give you a chance to surrender so that I have to stop? Have I given you any indication that I want to quit? I'm having the time of my life! Come on--keep going! When I'm done with you I'm going to kill everyone else--don't forget that! You're all that stands between me and these feeble beings you've grown to love."
What I'm looking forward to most in the next episode of #Invincible is when Conquest stops Mark from surrendering or trying to negotiate.
Feel like it's an underrated part of the fight, and I can just imagine Morgan killing the delivery of, "I'm having the time of my life!"
Artwork from Simon StΓ₯lenhag's THE ELECTRIC STATE showing a man in an empty parking lot at night, standing in front of a VR kiosk machine. One is on his head, but his mouth is agape, back bowed to the sky as a fluorescent light shines on him.

Artwork from Simon StΓ₯lenhag's THE ELECTRIC STATE shows a perspective from inside a car on a busy highway in the evening. It's raining and in the distance off the road is a giant tower glowing red.
Artwork from Simon StΓ₯lenhag's THE ELECTRIC STATE shows a giant robot, a mascot, hollowed out by almost organic wires that have spilled from its innards. Below it is a mob of people, their VR sets affixed to their heads, glowing an ominous red. The robot's many wires engulf a minivan, its blickers still on, passages inside.
It's still insane that an adaptation of THE ELECTRIC STATE will completely omit some of the book's most iconic imagery, including the clear horror-tinged tone throughout the story and setting.
It's frustrating that we won't get a movie depicting a somber road trip across a slowly dying USA.
