My team and I have been anticipating this for months. It is unconstitutional and illegal.

The media should note: Last time he issued an EO about voting, we sued and won. If Trump issues such an order we will sue again and we will win again.

Trump, Iran, and the Limits of Bullying The U.S. president deployed a lot of military firepower to the Middle East, apparently hoping to bully Iran into a deal, but that almost certainly won't work. What then?

The US had a deal curbing Iran’s nuclear program, but Trump scrapped it in 2018, letting Iran out of restrictions in exchange for nothing.

That makes it even harder for Tehran to make a deal now, since they cannot trust that American pressure will ease in response.

How America Chose Not to Hold the Powerful to Account Our national project of elite impunity

After the arrests of powerful men across the world, you might be asking why the US has so much trouble holding its leaders accountable for lawbreaking. Since Nixon, all three branches of government have worked hard to ensure they can break the law with impunity www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

This isn't just about conflicts of interest and whether or not she'll be profiting in office.

It's about her having a clear record of endorsing faulty products in exchange for compensation. It's about her being completely unworthy of an office that requires public trust.

BREAKING on MS NOW:

The FBI has fired at least 7 FBI agents and support staff as a result of their role in Trump's classified documents.

The people fired are said to have participated in some way in pulling phone records of Patel and Susie Wiles during that investigation.

The big picture: Hegseth told Amodei in a tense meeting on Tuesday that the Pentagon will either cut ties and declare Anthropic a "supply chain risk," or invoke the Defense Production Act to force the company to tailor its model to the military's needs.

Why it matters: The Pentagon wants to punish Anthropic as the feud over AI safeguards grows increasingly nasty, but officials are also worried about the consequences of losing access to its industry-leading model, Claude.

"The only reason we're still talking to these people is we need them and we need them now. The problem for these guys is they are that good," a Defense official told Axios ahead of the meeting.
Anthropic has said it is willing to adapt its usage policies for the Pentagon, but not to allow its model to be used for the mass surveillance of Americans or the development of weapons that fire without human involvement.
Anthropic's Claude is the only AI model currently used for the military's most sensitive work.

There's a lot going on.

But it deserves FAR MORE ATTENTION that Whiskey Pete is going to seize the means of AI production so he can 1) engage in mass surveillance of Americans and 2) shoot without human intervention.

Dystopias this bad would be deemed unrealistic.
