It's so interesting that when the Iraq war started, non-Muslim Americans criticized Islam by saying that it subjugates women, but now women's subjugation is treated as unquestionably Christian.

Aimed at a Jewish audience, but worth reading for those meeting opposition from Christians who believe we must support the government of Israel for theological reasons. If a Jewish Rabbi can’t persuade you, who can?

Christianity is fundamentally anti-imperial. I don't recognize it in Mike Johnson. Or MAGA.

I get that it's a marathon, not a sprint, but the extent of the damage that's being done real quick while we laboriously call our (oblivious) reps, record individual ICE raids, and scrabble in the sofa cushions for money to send refugees--it's horrendous.

I’ve been thinking that we were maybe experiencing civilizational collapse, and here’s this article. I really, really think the only way to cope is by being kind and generous.

They have become unresponsive to voters, and citizens have lost a sense of agency or duty. The incentive to serve in office isn't patriotism, but access to power and money. I hate living through this.

I don't have any followers so probably no one will read this. But. Our democracy is dying (slowly, then all at once) because of money in politics. It's so expensive to run for office that politicians depend on oligarchs.
