Elitists need to stop trying to parse out what is and isn't a "real" video game.
07.11.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is on your page, yes, though I also only see the Quick Start when searching "Dragon Slayers."
07.11.2025 13:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not obvious to me how a coalition who makes a habit of doing this is able to prioritize anything, say, abortion reform vs. criminal justice reform. When the first principle is electability, who gets to pick the second principle, and how?
07.11.2025 13:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This might be why you picked it, but what Donald "80% floor support from Republicans" Trump wants to do for Nigeria is invade it. I suspect we can have a winning issue off of not doing that.
07.11.2025 13:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Man, I don't think about what Elon thinks about anything anymore. It may be naive but it's nice.
07.11.2025 01:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The pull quote is interesting because so many people say the opposite. "2016 was a vote for any change. 2024, people knew what they were getting." But then apparently they did not in fact know what they were getting somehow. Or, as Krugman put it, they chose not to believe the label on the box.
06.11.2025 22:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Is that why the GOP Senators are resistant to the idea?
I've been pro-nuclear option most of this shutdown and only more so over time. The party with power won't negotiate, so they are obliged by their position to do something else. If they believe that strongly in their resolution, then make it so.
I smell a Rocket Docket on the launch pad...
06.11.2025 21:00 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It has "foreign policy implications" and is a government act so it's "irreparable harm"? I know that's what their line has been, but a measure of a standard is the various absurdities it creates. Surely the idea that a relative handful of gender labels irreparably harm the gov is such an absurdity.
06.11.2025 20:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And the best part is this isn't common decent people using their power to subvert unjust law. This wasn't nullification. The dude just clearly wasn't injured.

I...have no idea what the Portland equivalent is.
Now someone in Chicago but with a hot dog. We need to force the circuit split on "sandwich" precedent.

That's the kind of thing that it's important for someone in a position of power to say regardless of how obvious it is to everyone. Never get tired of more people saying the obviously true thing. It has special impact when certain people say it.
06.11.2025 17:05 β π 26 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't like when Trump purported to moderate. It's not clear to me why "people with access to loud megaphones" would want to praise a specific person because they use a strategy without regard to whether or not they approve of the person.
06.11.2025 16:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I tell ya Paul would have had some thoughts for this guy. He chewed out Peter, he'd chew him out, too.
06.11.2025 14:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And while I'm making a wish list, let's including having accountability positions actually staffed again so records of "Joined after the Kavanaugh stop became legal policy" can be parsed for the specific "Shot protestors in the head for the lolz" who cannot NOT be drop kicked out.
06.11.2025 13:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My concrete policy suggestion for this problem would be to make the goons go through proper law enforcement training before reassigning them. I'd just as soon drop kick groyper-recruitment-era ICE recruits back to wherever they came from (see, I can say it too), but that's probably unlikely.
06.11.2025 13:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Whatever happened at a policy level, that big angry crowd in 2020 was right that there was and is racial inequality in law enforcement. Switching all the ICE goons over to explicit drug enforcement because it supposedly has immigrant valence will make that worse. Again, that's why they joined
06.11.2025 13:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't see the point in arguing w/Barro that a subjective icky feeling is rational, esp. for those of us in families of disposable skin color. But it is relevant when talking about fungibility.
An army recruit in 2004 wanted to be in the Middle East. An ICE recruit now wants to racially profile.
The GOP and all 3 branches of government work to make Trump personally the most powerful politician in human history then ppl say it's silly and small-minded to run against that principle in local races. Look, I wish local votes didn't need to be referenda on the President, but it wasn't my idea.
05.11.2025 13:26 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0@twopancakes.com, This layout is unbelievably gorgeous.
04.11.2025 15:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dream game for my table right here, and you can get it now.
04.11.2025 15:05 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It's crazy because Kickstarter sets up the most predictable possible funding system. You can only get all of it (or more than all of it), it comes in a big chunk, and you have a hard bound on the funding period. But people still resort to vaguely waving their hands on the total?
04.11.2025 14:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"As it usually is in crowdfunding campaigns."
Well sure someone expected a cool 2 mil would think that those of us who ask for, get, and deliver on $500 are suckers who don't matter.
Same on the "broad based prosperity." That's not something the GOP does, so it's unclear why Dems would need to seize it. Not that they necessarily shouldn't, but it doesn't seem to be a given.
04.11.2025 13:52 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That didn't make sense. I mean it may or may not be strictly true of any individual, but it does reflect the broader messages.
04.11.2025 13:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, "I've only ever promised modest gains," may or may not be true, but it has been the promise of both sides of Dem Moderating discourse.

GenAI is giving companies that don't use it a competitive advantage on multiple fronts that wouldn't exist without it.
